Admission Requirements

Undergraduate Program

High School Graduate
An applicant to the BSChE program must meet the following qualifications:

  1. Obtain a rating of at least 95 in the IQ test and 50 in the English Proficiency Test (EPT) both administered by the university testing center.
  2. Has a rating of 80% or better in English, Mathematics and Science in the final year of high school.

The following must be submitted at the time of enrolment:

  1. Original Form 138-A (High School Report Card)
  2. Original or certified copy of Birth Certificate
  3. One recent passport picture
  4. Certified copy of Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR), if alien

Transferees
A student who has been enrolled in a college course in another institution is eligible to apply to the BSChE program if he/she meets the following qualifications:

  1. Has no unsatisfactory grades in the previous curriculum
  2. Passes the validating examinations in all basic courses, if required
  3. Starts not later than the fourth year of the program

The following must be submitted at the time of enrolment:

  1. Certificate of Transfer Credential (also called Honorable Dismissal)
  2. Informative copy of the Transcript of Records
  3. A statement of good moral character signed by proper authorities of the previous school
  4. Original or certified copy of the Birth Certificate
  5. One recent black-and-white passport picture
  6. Clearance from Student Affairs Services
  7. Certified copy of Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR), if alien

Graduate Programs
For an applicant to be admitted to the MSChE or MEnggChE program, the following minimum qualifications are required:

  1. Holds a BS degree in chemical engineering or equivalent
  2. Has a GPA of 2.5 (1.0 max – 3.0 min scale) or better in the BS degree
  3. Computer literate
  4. Holder of a valid PRC license

For an applicant to be considered for admission, the following are required:

  1. Completed application form for admission (Download pdf file)
  2. Certificate of Transfer Credential or Certificate of Honorable Dismissal (must be original copy for non-USC graduates);
  3. Two sets of Transcript of Records with Certificate of Graduation/Special Order (must be original copy for non-USC graduates);
  4. Two letters of recommendation from previous professors;
  5. Alien Certificate of Registration for non-Filipino citizens;
  6. Birth Certificate (must be NSO-certified for Filipinos);
  7. Photocopy of PRC Certificate of Registration;
  8. Short essay in English articulating motivation and interest in the program;
  9. Abstract of undergraduate project study or thesis;
  10. Two pieces 2x2 colored picture with white background
